City Tile sells Schluter shower systems and Wedi shower systems and membrane/ weatherproofing membranes. Our staff are qualified and very knowledgeable about how to prepare your shower, tub, bathroom or anywhere tile may be exposed to moisture.
Keep in mind that setting mortar, tile and grout aren’t waterproof either. Some tile absorbs very little, while grout and natural stone are porous as a sponge. Sealers are manufactured to maintain the appearance of your tile and grout, and they’re not designed as a waterproofing agent.
When building, or renovating a bathroom, shower, wet room, and or any other areas you want to protect the subsurface from any moisture getting under your tile. For your own protection we recommend the Schluter Membrane and Wedi Membrane systems.
